Built in 1662 and given a fresh face in 1899, we are a cornerstone of local history, where you can catch those famous riverside sunsets that make our pub so special.
Perched on the banks of the Thames, we’re all about warm welcomes, great service, and good old-fashioned attention to detail. We serve up hearty, seasonal British food (the kind that makes you pause after the first bite), whether you need a place to unwind after a busy day or a quick bite after a stroll along the river.

While we don’t offer bedrooms ourselves, a number of welcoming pubs with rooms are just a short taxi ride away. That means you can feast, party, and indulge to your heart’s content before retreating somewhere cosy for the night, and perhaps joining us again in the morning for a walk and lunch along the river.

Planning something spectacular and need a fun, that’ll have everyone talking? Say hello to our gorgeous riverside spaces, with space for smaller or larger parties, and semi-private or private. With panoramic, postcard-worthy views over the beautiful Barnes Riviera and our indulgent, celebration-ready menus, we’re the ultimate spot for a celebration that’s all about good times and great company.
Our Winter Set Menu
There’s something magical about winter by the river. The mist rising from the water, the soft glow of lights reflecting on the surface, and the gentle hush that makes everything feel slower, calmer, warmer. It’s the perfect time to step into your favourite riverside pub, wrap your hands around a steaming drink, and let the world drift by. Our Winter Set Menu celebrates this serene season, featuring dishes made from seasonal, local British ingredients that feel perfectly at home beside the water. From 5th January to 27th February, Monday to Friday, you can treat yourself to two courses for £19 or three courses for £23, enjoying the comfort of hearty winter flavours as you watch the river move quietly outside.
