At our pub, wine is part of the experience. Our list is shaped to sit naturally alongside the food, but also to suit the setting. Long lunches by the Thames, golden evenings on the terrace, and unhurried glasses shared as the river drifts past.
In summer, we lean towards lighter styles. Wines that feel at home in the sunshine, that pair effortlessly with seasonal dishes, and that invite you to stay a little longer.
Below, a selection of our summer favourites, best enjoyed by the river.
Light, bright and gently sparkling, Casa Canevel Prosecco Rosé is made for the start of an afternoon.
Delicate notes of red berries and soft florals make it an easy companion to lighter dishes, think fresh seafood, summer starters or something simple to share.
Best enjoyed as the first glass of the day, sitting out on the terrace as the river glows.
A classic Provence rosé, pale in colour and effortlessly elegant. M de Minuty pairs beautifully with fresh, seasonal plates, grilled fish, light salads, or something taken from the specials board on a warm day.
It’s the kind of wine that belongs in the sunshine, enjoyed slowly with a view of the Thames and nowhere else to be.
Refined and quietly expressive, Lady A brings a little more structure while remaining unmistakably fresh. Perfect alongside dishes with depth, richer fish, summer meats or something slightly more indulgent from the kitchen.
A wine for long lunches that stretch into the evening, as the sun begins to set over the river.
Crisp, clean and beautifully balanced, Gavi is a natural partner to the season. With notes of citrus and green apple, it pairs effortlessly with fresh fish, shellfish and lighter plates that let the ingredients shine. A glass of Gavi, a table by the river, and the quiet rhythm of the Thames, summer, simply done well.
Mineral, precise and quietly complex, Chablis is a wine that rewards both the food and the setting. It’s a natural match for oysters, seafood and elegant, flavour-led dishes, bringing out the best in every bite.
Enjoyed overlooking the water, it feels entirely in place.
